Understanding our costs.


Woodpeckers is a private nursery and we also accept government funding for children covered by government funding from 9 months to 4 years.

Any funding for 9 month to 30 hour 3-4 year old funding must be applied for, and a code given to the nursery. This MUST be reapplied for every term. Applying too late or failing to reapply may result in the funding not being available and our private fees will be charged. (See fees attached)

What is covered by the funding:

All staffing and EYFS delivery.

Flexible childcare between 8.45am - 4.15pm (Monday - Friday)

Early starts from 8am (Monday - Friday)

Late pick-ups till 5.30pm (Tuesday & Wednesday)

What is not covered by the funding:


Deposit when registering (refundable)

Late payment fees

Freshly prepared - hot meals and daily snacks

Consumables (excluding suncream and wipes which are provided)

Sports, and dance activities

  • Help with childcare costs

    Do you qualify for extra tax credits?

    If you work and pay for childcare you may be able to get tax credits to help with the costs. You can get help with up to 70 per cent of your childcare costs - subject to a maximum limit in the amount of childcare costs you can claim each week. Whether you've a wee tot or big teen, the costs of childcare can be prohibitive.
