This area
of provision has grown out of parent's needs for care for their children
when they start school. |

Children
now
enjoy a
purpose
built
room,
totally
independent
from the
nursery,
which
provides
a superb
environment
for
children
to relax
and
enjoy
each
others
company. |

There are
games, activities, crafts, a sofa area, computers, games console, etc.
all of which help children to follow their interests, make friends, feel
secure and happy with trained staff to enable them to do many things. |

Breakfast,
out of school clubs and holiday care
|
|
Opened in 2007, the
Hideout, providing breakfast, after school and holiday care for
children 5 - 12 years.
It is an extension of the services
currently provided by Woodpeckers growing out of excellent care and
education already in place. Parents asked for care above and beyond
the day care we were providing, and our response has been flexible
and dedicated to meeting parent's needs.
After school children
have snacks and tea provided and holiday children have snacks, lunch
and tea. Breakfasts are provided at the Breakfast Club. |

Themed weeks and activities during holidays |
|
During the school holidays we
organise themed weeks such 'Pet Week', 'Sports Week' and 'Food From
Around World'. During summer 2010 we had sessions from a tennis
coach, an African Drummer and a Yoga teachers. The children enjoyed
days out such as swimming and picnics in and around Suffolk. |

Help with homework and reading |
|
The children who attend our out of
school club are also offered help with homework and reading by our
fully trained staff. |
|

NEW! - The Hideout's log cabin |
|
To provide for the ever growing number
of children in our after school club and holiday club we added The
Log Cabin.
It's a
lovely bright and airy space equipped with a playstaion, games and
books so as to focus on the quieter activities in this room.
We have also appointed two Lead Practioners who now share the
running of the Hideout and the Log Cabin. They have time out to plan
activities and themes for both the after school club and the holiday
club. "One of the School holiday
clubs Suffolk can be proud of" - regular
mum! |

Unique mini bus transport service |

|
Our unique mini bus
transport service to and from many of the local schools in and
around Sudbury for our
breakfast, after school, and holiday clubs gives parents even more
flexibility and time.
Our mini bus is fully
insured and well equipped. It, and it's drivers are regulated by the
local council.
At present we pick
children up from 7 different local schools both at lunch times at
after school.
