Our efforts were rewarded in 2008 when Ofsted presented us with their "Outstanding Education, Care & Skills" award following a very successful inspection in November 2007, when every area was deemed as outstanding.

Every Child a Talker (ECAT)

We have been awarded the ECAT certificate for which all the staff have trained.

Every Child a Talker (ECAT) is designed to help practitioners create a developmentally appropriate, supportive and stimulating environment in which children can enjoy experimenting with and learning language.

Through everyday, fun and interesting experiences which reflect children’s interests, ECAT encourages early language development right from the outset, extending children’s vocabulary so that before they start school children are confident and skilled communicators.

Suffolk Quality Assurance Scheme Award

Since our outstanding Ofsted award we have strived to maintain these standards and to build upon our good practice, and have renewed our Suffolk Quality Assurance Scheme Award this year.

This award looks at our provision and monitors all aspects of care and education, including review and development. We are also concerned for those children who find some areas more difficult than others, and we have two staff SENCO trained. They are able to work with the County support staff for those with Special Educational Needs, and coordinate our efforts to help each child.

Babergh Scores on the Doors Hygiene Certificate

We have very high standards of food and have been awarded a 5 out of 5 Babergh Hygiene Star Rating.

This certificate is awarded for "Very high standards of food safety management" and "Fully compliant with food safety legislation". You can find out more on the Babergh website >

Meals are cooked daily on the premises by our resident cook using wherever possible fresh locally sourced ingredients. Our menu is designed to encourage "healthy eating", with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.
